TeXworks requires dictionaries to be in myspell directory

Bug Description
I'm using TeXworks 0.5~svn1363-6build2 in Xubuntu 16.04
Hunspell is installed, and so are some hunspell dictionaries. I would expect TeXworks to find these dictionaries and display them in the Edit -> Spelling menu.
Instead, I need to create symlinks from the files in /usr/share/hunspell to /usr/share/
A Google search indicates that this behaviour has been occurring for some time.
