Bug Description

I installed the second beta of bionic, and bash history didn't work.

Turns out the installer created my user account but left .bash_history owned by root. It should have been owned by the user.

I used the lubuntu installer, so I don't know whose bug this actually is. It was downloaded from here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/bionic/beta-2/

I see this bug reported twice in launchpad, but they're both from long ago. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator/+bug/1198413

To be complete, here's the lsb_release -rd output:
Description: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch)
Release: 18.04
