Bug Description

Starting from recently, Nautilus has begun to make a stupid and annoying "Beep" (or rather "Bipp") sound for some random (but not all) navigating actions, such as: clicking on an item in the "breadcrumbs" on the top of the window (but not opening a folder by clicking on it from within a window), switching tabs, and perhaps some more.

So I looked in Nautilus' Preferences if there was a setting for that and there isn't.

Then I opened System Settings and went to Sound -> Sound Effects and there I found an "Alert volume" setting (there is also a "Choose an Alert sound" option where the only available choice is "Default", brilliant), so I tried to mute that.

That accomplishes my goal of muting Nautilus' stupid beep sounds. However, it also removes another completely unrelated and useful sound feature which I do not want to turn off: when you increase or decrease the general output volume by using the volume +/- keys in the keyboard, you hear a sound with a loudness proportional to the volume you are setting. That's useful. If I mute the "Alert volume", that sound also disappears.

And God knows which and how many other sounds I may be muting.

It's nonsense that completely unrelated features such as Nautilus' beeps on (some) navigation actions and the feedback sound for monitoring changes in general output volume (none of which, by the way, is an "alert" of any kind) are linked together under a single setting by the name of "alert volume".

While we wait a few years for this annoying issue to be fixed, does anyone know of a workaround?
