syslinux hangs when load an image in the memory

Bug Description
i've booted my usb disk on an old pc thousands of times and everytime the progress bar that comes up when syslinux loads the kernel hangs.
This happen even if i change usb disk.... i'm using an old Asus P2B and i boot the usb key using the Plop Boot Manager
