Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
I read through this... I was going to report against xorg, so I guess it's a good thing I did...
https:/
Every time I check for updates with Update Manager, Xorg uses 30% or 40% of CPU. Aptitude (command line) does not do this.
I'm not sure what kind of information is needed here... I will provide as necessary.

The only thing I can think of is the download progress bar that may cause high load on the xserver. I do not think this is a update-manager bug, more either theme, gtk or the xserver. What card/driver are you using?
