Bug Description

This the logged errors into journalctl when i reinstall synaptic on xenial:

synaptic.desktop[26358]:
Exception in RPackageLister::xapianSearch():The revision being read has been discarded - you should call Xapian::Database::reopen() and retry the operation

 Gtk-CRITICAL **: /build/gtk+3.0-vke6KI/gtk+3.0-3.18.6/./gtk/gtktreeview.c:5515 (gtk_tree_view_bin_draw): assertion `has_next' failed.

There is a disparity between the internal view of the GtkTreeView, and the GtkTreeModel. This generally means that the model has changed without letting the view know. Any display from now on is likely to be incorrect.

Does this happen often? Do you have a step by step way to reproduce?

(I'm on Debian bullseye - testing and reinstalled synaptic without issues.)
