Bug Description
Binary package hint: swfdec-mozilla
Just upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty. Noticed that the proprietary Adobe Flash plugin was replaced by swfdec. Yay freedom! However now I cannot listen to music videos on YouTube: the audio is skipping and chopping like mad.
This is a 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo laptop. Top shows 82-90% CPU taken by Xorg, 20-23% taken by firefox, and 2% taken by pulseaudio. One of the two CPUs is 90% idle. Other applications (e.g. mplayer) are able to play music through pulseaudio fine.

Having a similar problem. Firefox is using swfdec for all things Flash and most of it isn't working. Youtube video's have sound out of sync with video and on the BBC website the videos start to load and then give an error saying that the content is not available at this time. Happens on all flash videos on BBC website.
Upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 yesterday. Can't seem to switch to using the Adobe flashplayer either since Firefox thinks it's not installed but when I choose to install it it says that it is (see this bug https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ flashplugin- nonfree/ +bug/326609).
