14.04, fresh install. thought it was cause i logged out at first but second try seems to be hung...

Why not update???

Let's see, this was all reported nearly a year ago, and Steam was released for Ubuntu in February 2013 - and I just encountered it again in March 2015. Why has it not been fixed??????
