Bug Description

How to reproduce:

Create a folder and put some music files in there, some with .oga and some .mp3. Under SoundConverter Settings, choose oga as desired format. Now add the folder to soundconverter.

What happens:

All files show up - even those that are already in the desired format. This is a waste of CPU!

What should happen:

Files already in .oga format should not appear when using the "Add folder" function.

Look at the bottom of the "Add Folder" window : you can filter by types.

And for me, converting oga files to lower quality oga files is a valid usage pattern, and I don't see how to conserve it if SC was filtering out the destination type when adding files.

Your remark is good, but I'm not sure the added complexity worth it.

I was hoping to use SoundConverter to automatically organize my chaotic music collection. However, as a large portion of it is already in the format I want to convert everything to, I'm forced to find another solution. To cover more use cases, I suggest an option to ignore files that are already in the destination format (as originally suggested), only rename and copy them (as I was hoping for), or fully process them including transcoding (as it behaves now).

From time to time I need to convert high bitrate MP3 files to a lower bitrate MP3. SoundConvert is perfect for this.

A reasonable workaround is to import all the file types, one by one, except the one you are converting to.

However, I agree that it would be a nice feature to "Import all except the one I'm converting to." Even better would be to be able to have a checkbox to "Copy file if already in the right format."
