Bug Description

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

Assume inserting a really new cd that was not found by freedb and musicbrainz. I have to type all disc informations by hand into sound-juicer. If the submit button are pressed, i got the musicbrainz webpage with empty disc informations. None of their buttons import the typed disc informations and track names.
Thats no motivation at all, to type and type and type instead of a real import. Years ago every person could type track names into grip and easy submit them to freedb.

Eric

In other words, to submit to Music Brainz, we have to retype all the information that we typed into Sound Juicer. The only item that gets transferred automatically is the TOC, such as "1 10 188867 150 15117 37698 51248 71380 92219 109076 134109 152333 170419" and the number of tracks.

This doesn't apply only to really new CDs, it applies to all sorts of independent and perhaps international recordings. Most of what I listen to isn't in the existing databases.

summary: - Sound-Juicer interface to musicbrainz did not submit tracks

The workaround for the double entry problem is to submit the album to musicbrainz, enter the data there, the reload the disc (ctrl-R). That reads the newly entered data from musicbrainz.

That said, the "submit" notice is misleading (as this bug shows). Also, sound juicer is able to find track names for some CDs from the CD itself. It would be nice to be able to submit these with no typing at all.

I don't understand why Douglas is talking about a "workaround for the double entry problem"...
For me, this is simply a bug : the "submit track names" features does not work (from the menu or frm the popup banner). A web page is indeed opened on Muzicbrain, but without any track names (nor album information) that I entered manually in SoundJuicer.

I'm running SoundJuicer 3.5.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 (kernel 3.11.0-18-generic)

Any chance to get this corrected ?
Thanks....
