Music dir selection does not work

In the Preferences dialog, if I select any dir in the Music dir drop-down list and close the dialog, it's not saved, an the file $HOME/.config/sonata/sonatarc is not updated. Upon next opening the drop-down is empty again.

If I select 'Other' and then choose a directory from the standard dialog, the sonatarc file IS updated, but in the Prefs dialog the drop-down is still empty.
