Internal Error: deb file could not be opened.

Hi! So this error occurs when the debian file can't be opened correctly - most commonly either the download is incomplete and hence corrupt, or sometimes the browser deletes the download when you close your browser before software-center has finished dealing with it. Could you perhaps try to download the deb file again and see if it works this time? Thanks!

The download was complete as I was able to install it using dpkg.

I too got the same "Internal Error" while i was installing Google Chrome 14 on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.Is there anyway to fix this bug

Same problem here with the latest chrome deb. Works fine with dpkg...

sudo dpkg -i packagename.deb

WORKS
