It would seem that this is caused by the introduction of the line 'self.oauth_token = helper.find_oauth_token_sync()' in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~software-store-developers/software-center/trunk/revision/3230 - it is not directly clear why this causes the issue, but commenting out that line seems to cause the progress button to hide as it should.
