The indicator created for vlc won't hide/unhide directly from a left click on icon, additionally in 12.04 most other controls don't work

Bug Description
A l. click does nothing, to hide or unhide one must do from the drop down
Even then it always says " Hide VLC media player in the taskbar" whether hidden or not
In 12.04 the next, previous & stop are now non-functional
The systray icon does still work correctly in both area's & is the better choice atm.

Atm the systray icon for vlc, while working better than sni-qt, can invoke this crash
If at some point sni-qt could work more as expected that would be great - no big deal though
