I was using slic3r very often without problem with previous stable ubuntu. After upgrade i am getting following error:

When i run dmesg command, with each unsucessful launch of slic3r appears row like this:

Same for me except my Gtk-WARNING lines alternate between -11 and -1. It draws a window that almost looks usable but the window is unresponsive and just there until apport is done and then it disappears.

dmesg:

I'm also experiencing this bug after upgrading from 16.04 to 18.04.
Removing and reinstalling the package and .Slic3r dir does not fix it.

The Github developer comments suggest this problem was fixed as of slic3r version 1.3.1.
The slic3r packaged with Ubuntu 18.04 is V1.2.9.

However 18.04 now includes a slic3r-prusa package which works. It reports version 1.39.1

Workaround: 1. Install slic3r-prusa package; sudo apt-get install slic3r-prusa

2. Copy the contents of ~/.Slic3r to ~/.Slic3rPE to restore all your settings.
