Bug Description
Binary package hint: shotwell
At first, all images were displayed in a missing tab. I remounted the hard drive and reopened shotwell. It appears that the photos were recovered, but the events information is missing. I tried to reinport the photos from the same directory, which did not help.

If files are moved to the Missing Files page, their events and tags should be preserved inside Shotwell. I attempted to reproduce this but couldn't.
How is the hard drive mounted (USB, network, etc.)? Is the hard drive selected as your library directory (Edit -> Preferences)? Or are you referring to the hard drive via a symlink on your local filesystem?
