Bug Description
Binary package hint: seamonkey
On one occasion of starting seamonkey (browser only), I was informed there were no tabs for my sidebar, and it's been blank and useless ever since. How do I get my tabs back?
The tabbed sidebar was very useful, but where did the tabs go?
I still have my bookmarks (imported from firefox), but they're not in the sidebar
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
Dependencies:
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: seamonkey None [modified: /var/lib/
PackageArchitec
ProcEnviron:
PATH=(custom, user)
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: seamonkey
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-13-generic i686
UnreportableReason: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package
It has happened again! I had it solved for some time. I had found a "panels.rdf" file in /usr/share/ seamonkey and copied it to /home/ed/ .mozilla/ default/ ******* *.slt/ and everything worked fine until today.
Now I get the following message on starting seamonkey:
"The sidebar is currently empty.
You may add tabs by clicking on the "Tabs" button above.
If you would like to completely hide.....etc...."
I've re-copied the panels.rdf file into the profile from the source, but when I close seamonkey and re-start it, the above message re-appears, and I find there is no panels.rdf in the profile. There is, however, a "lock" file of 15 bytes. On attempting to read it, I get the following:
"The Link "lock" is Broken. Move it to Trash?
This link cannot be used, because its target "127.0.1.1:+4695" doesn't exist."
I suspect I must have Seamonkey closed before copying the file because something in the closing of it must be causing the problem.
This is really irritating in an otherwise excellent browser.
