Bug Description

In the current version (today) of ubuntu 14.04:

seahorse does not show a key generation window when creating a new pgp key, therefore giving no feedback at all about key generation.

There also should be a process indicator showing how much of the can has been generated, as it takes several minutes leving unexperienced users to think it might have crased.

seahorse version 3.10.2
gpg version 1.4.15

Didn't generate anything at all here.

I've tried to follow https://launchpad.net/+help-registry/openpgp-keys.html exactly as written, but it does not work.

-Step 2 Select File > New, select PGP Key and then follow the on-screen instructions.

-Now you'll see your new key listed in the Passwords and Encryption Keys tool.

No. Nothing is listed. All I can see is a window flashing up for 1/10 of a second on the upper left of the screen. But there is no key shown at all.

Back to console and GnuPG. This tool is unusable for PGP keys as it is now.

WAIT A MINUTE...

I think now I know why there are so many bug reports. Ubuntu (even Unified) uses a version that is roughly 4 years old!

They're currently at 3.12.2, and I can read heaps of fixes.

seahorse 3.18.0
GNUPG: /usr/bin/gpg2 (2.0.28)
