Bug Description
Recently I was asked to help a guy because his scanner was no longer working in newer versions of this package. (1.0.20.1)
I told him to install libsane-extras from here: http://
This is because his scanner was previously working with this version of libsane-extras. (1.0.19.11)
More than likely this is a problem with the libsane-extras code and not the packaging. I just thought I would report it to somebody who may be able to pass this information on if needed.

He told me it appears that something called "epkowa" is missing in the newer versions of this package.
I downloaded both versions of this package and extracted them.
I found that the newer version was missing these "epkowa" files in the following places:
--- d/epkowa. conf sane/libsane- epkowa. la sane/libsane- epkowa. so.1 sane/libsane- epkowa. so.1.0. 19
etc/sane.
usr/lib/
usr/lib/
usr/lib/
---
I also found that the "lib/udev/ 40-libsane- extras. rule" file was 1.1kb in the new version and 14.5kb in the old. Seems like alot of functionality was removed...
Seems the problem is with the package afterall.
