Bug Description
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
Ubuntu 10.04
Rhythmbox 0.12.8
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set download location of podcasts to X
2. Download a podcast
3. Check the properties and see the filepath of the podcast
4. Set download location of podcasts to Y
5. Check filepath of podcast and notice that it hasn't changed, file is now unplayable
Perhaps more unsettling is the fact that by changing the podcast download location, the originally downloaded podcasts aren't moved as well. I understand this is because it's the "podcast DOWNLOAD location", but why isn't there a podcast search path?
Does rhythmbox rely on metadata in the MP3 file or on its own database to know if a file is considered a podcast?
Either way, I moved the podcast directory (as my home folder was filling up), and now I don't even have the option of manually changing the locations of the files (can't edit filepath in properties dialogue).

I have a similar problem. I recently installed a new box and copied all the podcast episodes I'd downloaded on my old machine to the new one. However there is no way I can find of telling Rythmbox how to locate them, so it wants to download them all again.
