Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

This is on Karmic Beta (amd64) using Rhythmbox 0.12.5:
When I transfer audio over to my MTP device (A Samsung YP-U3), with every track I transfer, an error window pops up and announces: "Media player device error: LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): object type doesn't support RepresentativeSampleData."
This pops up for every track I had transferred (so it gets to be troublesome when I move hundreds of songs, because then I need to wait and click "Close" hundreds of times).
Interestingly, everything seems to play perfectly fine in the MTP device.

thanks for the report, any chance to get a rhythmbox log? please run rhythmbox as : rhythmbox --debug &> rhythmbox-debug.txt ; perform the steps to reproduce the issue and attach that resulting log file to the report, thanks in advance Brews.

Ooo, that is scant.
Sorry for the late response - midterm exams.
Here is some new (full) debugging goodness.

weird, there's no error stating that on the log you attached there. could you please try again or send this directly to upstream at bugzilla.gnome.org under the rhythmbox product? thanks.

Here is more debug output. I'll try to push this upstream.

I have this bug too. The mp3 player is samsung YP-U3. I added the lines to get it recognized as a player by Rhythbox (in fact it does appear) but when I send some mp3 (I can't understand why some mp3 do that but some others don't) onto it, it tells me about this problem.

I have the same problem here with ubuntu 12.04, Rhythmbox 2.96 and a samsung YP-k3, the error message is "LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): could not get object info." , don't know how to get the error log :S, and the files are playable on the device, the only problem is the infinite pop-up error windows..
