Bug Description

Tagger crashes on Nexus 7. It doesn't even run, when launched, white window appears and then disappear. I suppose it may be somehow related to Nexus 7's camera, but the default camera app works.

Is this still happening? There was a crash related to apparmor policies around the time this was reported. Should work again.

Unfortunately yes. I just tried to install it on Nexus 7 and it crashed before it even opened.

Ok, I just flashed a Nexus7 and installed tagger. Works fine for me. Please post image version and tagger version.

It doesn't work for me on Nexus 7 (LTE), neither with ubuntu-devel (r243) nor ubuntu-devel-proposed (r23). I was always trying the latest version of Tagger available in the Ubuntu Software Center, currently it shows version number: 0.5.2.0

Really strange, I'm running ubuntu-devel-proposed (r23) and Tagger 0.5.2.0 on a Nexus7 (no LTE) just now and it's working fine... At the moment I'm a bit lost on what could go wrong.

Agreed, I wonder what may be happening on my device, but it really doesn't work. It would be great to find some more people with Nexus 7, especially someone with Nexus 7 LTE, to see it I am the only one.

Just to recap and extend, my configuration is:
* Nexus 7 2013 LTE
* latest ubuntu-devel-proposed - dualboot with Android thanks to MultiRom app
* latest Tagger

and the app doesn't even run when launched, it shows me the loading screen and then pushes me back to my homescreen. On ubuntu-devel there is additionally a small period ow white screen time, I suppose Tager launched but immediately before rendering anything crashes.

Yeah, I asked some more people to test it on their Nexus 7 devices. In the meantime, can you please attach the logs from /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/application-click-com.ubuntu.developer.mzanetti.tagger_tagger_0.5.2.0.log?

I think you can also install the logviewer application, select tagger's log and pastebin it from there. Also, please attach the part from ~/.cache/upstart/unity8.log that is printed when you try to start tagger.

Thanks.

Oh, great, I had no idea about the location of log files and haven't pursued it further, thanks for the info.
Anyway, here is the Tagger log http://paste.ubuntu.com/9068825/ and here is the Unity8 log http://paste.ubuntu.com/9068917/

In addition, as I can see now, for some reason, camera app does not work for me on the latest ubuntu-devel-proposed builds, so there is probably a problem with that, default camera app also crashes and it worked only a few days ago.

However, on ubuntu-devel, it doesn't work either even though camera app does, here are the appropriate logs for this version of Ubuntu: http://paste.ubuntu.com/9069085/ http://paste.ubuntu.com/9069139/

I just tried on devel-proposed r25 and could not reproduce any problems with camera or tagger.

If you clear out /var/crash (through sudo), get it to crash again, can you please upload the relevant .crash file from /var/crash.

Sorry for incomplete upload description, I am out so I had to do only with my Ubuntu tablet. Anyway, the archive should contain the required log files from /var/cache. Those are all available in the directory after I cleaned it and ran Tagger on my device.
