Bug Description

As a (potentially) new user of Qt as an environment and development toolset, I was really disappointed to find that the examples promised on the website, and indeed the installed package were not actually there! This initially made it impossible to start learning how to use the tool in the way described by the introductory material.

In fact, I discovered after much difficulty that multiple separate example packages were all listed with the suffix '5-examples' within the ubuntu repository and had to be installed separately and individually by identifying the unique name of the specific subpackage of examples, then installing that package.

Given the choice of packaging by the maintainer, the qtcreator introductory page should certainly not claim... I quote "You can test that your Qt SDK installation is successful by opening an existing example application project. On the Welcome page, select Examples (1).". The website should not claim it either, given the choice of packaging, but this is probably beyond our control.

If qtcreator is to be distributed separately from its examples, a metapackage should be provided with a meaningful name, which depends on all the example packages so that adopters can acquire all the examples easily. The naming convention, since it doesn't include a string identifying the toolkit and version is fairly hard to decrypt (they should not be called qtscript5-examples, but rather qt5-script-examples if you want people to be able to find them).

Though I believe it is a flawed naming scheme, a metapackage called qt5-examples would assist with the issue if the maintainer wants to keep it.

It is a valid request. The Qt5 examples should be treated a bit better in the distribution.

The -examples could be considered to be installed by the SDK meta packages, but the package naming is something that follows Debian's conventions so those won't be changed.

Maybe qtcreator should Suggests: at least all the -examples packages? Recommends: might be overkill since all of them together are quite big.
