unity logs tons of xsession errors

Bug Description
unity must be very busy writing errors and warnings to the .xsession-errors logfile.. got almost 200000 lines there already.. no wonder unity is slow. this is on 11.10. that's not a debug/beta/alpha version of ubuntu, is it?
