Bug Description

Binary package hint: telepathy-butterfly

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"

telepathy-butterfly 0.3.1-0ubuntu1

What I was doing: Only being idly online with Empathy. While typing this, the same error has come up three times. I haven't had it installed for very long, but it didn't do this earlier. Possibly related to someone coming online with a weird name perhaps?

After idling for a few hours, I came back to my desktop and Ubuntus crash reporter had found a crash, though empathy/telepathy seemed to have recovered from it as I was still logged into MSN.

I've reproduced this, and the duplicate has an identical stacktrace

Same error running Empathy on Intrepid beta.

Empathy running in the background, crash seemed to coincide with a friend logging on. Friends name contained no weird characters or anything like that.
