Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I was trying to get my laptop to hibernate on battery power. It was not successful, when resuming the laptop was in a strange state where programs would not start etc. Further, i could not turn off/restart the computer by other means than first stopping x, then prssing the power button.
After restarting that way, this crash report appeared.
The suspend/hibernate thing really should be working...power saving benefits not only the environment but also the ever-increasing number of laptop users.

P.S. I'm trying out Ubuntu 8.04 beta 64-bit with all updates to date. Laptop is HP nc8430. Hardy is really otherwise working nicely (absolutely the best Ubuntu so far), but it is a "power hog".
