top(1) command should quit on Control-D

All these years top(1) has told me "Unknown command" when I hit Control-D, so then I think about it and hit Control-C to close it. But it just occurred to me: why shouldn't Control-D *also* be a valid top(1) command to exit? That's what it means for many other commands that continue taking input from stdin! The man page suggests that the author last touched top(1) nearly a decade ago, so this bug report is to see if Ubuntu can come to my rescue with a feature request: could Control-D be made a synonym for Control-C in the top(1) code? That would be great! I'd get you a beer the next time we meet at a conference or you come through Atlanta.

Normally I would just try to do this myself through .toprc, but it seems that keystroke customization is not among its strong points.
