note that the workaround does not fix the problem of procps failing to start via upstart,etc
It only allows the dpgk process to complete the install/upgrade process with out 'hoseing' the system.
if you rename procps.conf.old back to procps.conf it will still fail.

2nd workaround: packages. ubuntu. com/saucy/ procps packages. ubuntu. com/saucy/ libprocps0

** this correct the underlying problem, and you can rename procps.conf.old propps.conf
