Bug Description

[Justification]
ppc64-diag is a package specific to IBM POWER hardware. It is built for Ubuntu's powerpc and ppc64el architectures. However, the version in Ubuntu 14.04 lacks full support for running on a little-endian host (ppc64el); and because powerpc is a 32-bit host OS its usage on IBM POWER servers is minimal. This is a hardware-enablement SRU to fix behavior of ppc64-diag on ppc64el.

[Test case]
Proper functioning of ppc64-diag to be confirmed by IBM.

[Regression potential]
The new upstream version of ppc64-diag consists of endianness fixes, build system changes, miscellaneous bug fixes, and some small backwards-compatible new features (including a new utility, opal-dump-parse). The current package is of minimal utility on powerpc and is known to not work on ppc64el. Risk of regression is negligible.

Please update ppc64-diag package

ppc64-diag v2.6.7
git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/linux-diag/ppc64-diag linux-diag-ppc64-diag
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-diag/files/ppc64-diag/v.2.6.7/ppc64-diag-2.6.7.tar.gz/download

Machine Type = IBM Power 8

Userspace tool common name: ppc64-diag

Please update both 14.04 and 14.10 branch

  * New upstream release, with little-endian fixes (LP: #1358506)
  * Add newly-required build-dep on libudev-dev for opal_errd.
  * Skip installing systemd units for now, since they also seem
    to depend on installing upstream's version of the init jobs.
  * Drop libsqlite3-dev build-dep, not required by upstream code.

ppc64-diag (2.6.7-0ubuntu1~14.04.1) trusty; urgency=medium

  * Reintroduce build-dependency on libsqlite3-dev. This is more
    appropriately a dependency of libservicelog-dev, but that package
    doesn't depend on it in trusty so we re-add it here for compatibility.

ppc64-diag (2.6.7-0ubuntu1~14.04) trusty; urgency=medium

  * Straight backport to trusty for ppc64el hardware enablement.

ppc64-diag (2.6.7-0ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=medium

ppc64-diag (2.6.6-0ubuntu1) utopic; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * drop all debian/patches, included upstream.
