The DpkgTerminalLog.txt file shows the following errors:

Preparando para desempaquetar .../postfix_3.6.4-1ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb ...
/etc/postfix/main.cf.proto modified, not updating.
/etc/postfix/master.cf.proto modified, not updating.
grep: /etc/postfix/master.cf: No such file or directory
grep: /etc/postfix/master.cf: No such file or directory
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst: 175: retry_warning: not found
dpkg: error al procesar el archivo /var/cache/apt/archives/postfix_3.6.4-1ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb (--unpack):

This is strange; for some reason, some of the configuration files for postfix were not found under /etc/postfix/. This usually means that they have been manually removed, which is not supported. Do you remember having removed them by hand?

I'm marking this bug as Incomplete for now to reflect the fact that we're waiting on more information from you. Please set its status back to New once you provide the information requested above.

Thank you for your reply, I did not remove the file and due to persistent
error, I have purged and removed postfix and then reinstalled.

This allowed me to go on with my task successfully.

Will be reading carefully again your response to find out what happened.
