Application launcher does not open documents in history

Bug Description

When attempting to open a document from the history in the KDE application launcher menu, nothing happens.

Reproducible: always

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log into the desktop
2. Open application launcher menu
3. Go to history section
4. Click on an item in the documents section

Expected behaviour:
File is opened with the default application selected for the file type, menu closes.

Actual behaviour:
Menu closes, nothing else happens.

Relevant log from ~/.xsession-errors when trying to open "test.xml" from application launcher history section (replacing user name with "myusername")

Opening item with URL "/home/myusername/.local/share/RecentDocuments/test.xml.desktop"
The desktop entry file "/home/myusername/.local/share/RecentDocuments/test.xml.desktop" has Type= "Link" instead of "Application" or "Service"
Access to ' "/home/myusername/.local/share/RecentDocuments/test.xml.desktop" ' denied, not owned by root, executable flag not set.

Failed to find service for QUrl( "file:///home/myusername/.local/share/RecentDocuments/test.xml.desktop" )

Fixed by upgrading to Xenial
