Bug Description
I added the touchpad status widget to the KDE panel at the top of the screen, but the icon doesn't change when I enable/disable the touchpad. The touchpad does get enabled/disabled, it's just that the icon fails to update. If I add the widget to the plasma desktop, I get a different icon which does correctly show the touchpad state by changing the line colour from black to dark gray - not a great choice, but it works.
I have attached a screen capture of the touchpad icon. I captured it in both the enabled and disabled states and the PNGs were byte for byte identical.
The laptop is a Samsung NP370R5E-A07UK which has a ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad according to Xorg.0.log.
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. I do not have the transitional kde-touchpad package installed. I have plasma-desktop version 4:5.5.5-0ubuntu1 installed.
I think plasma-desktop provides the touchpad widget.
