Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Using Ubuntu 10.04.1 and Pidgin 2.6.6 on a computer with no webcam or mic. When I'm logged into Google Talk through Pidgin, my contacts using the gmail interface see a webcam icon next to my name. This indicates that I do have a webcam present which is not the case.

Instead, the icon next to my name in the gmail interface should just be a green dot (when I'm available). The attached image shows the webcam icon along with what I would expect with no webcam connected.

This bug also seems to be the present in Ubuntu 10.10/Pidgin 2.7.3. If it makes any difference, when I'm connected to Google Talk through Empathy the expected icon (green dot, no webcam icon) is shown.
