Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Have two computer with maverick on and using Pidgin IM.
Starting today MSN account cannot loggin and gives error:

SSL Certificate Error
Unable to validate certificate
The certificate for omega.contacts.msn.com could not be validated. The certificate chain presented is invalid.

Error occurs on both computers.
I tried with another user.
Tried deleting ceritficate file in ./pruple/certificates/x509/tls_peers
Tried "using http method" from advanced. (it works once and a while, after selveral retries but is not consistent)
I have i friend who has the same problem today, but "using http method" works for him.

Same problem with 10.04/Pidgin 2.6.6 after SSL-Securityupgrade this morning.
Restarting pidgin solves this for me ...

MSN updated their certificate on 2010-11-15 it seems. You can replace the one in Pidgin explicitly:

If you're talking about the update of openssl from 0.9.8o-1ubuntu4.1 to 0.9.8o-1ubuntu4.2, I haven't installed those yet but still get the problem, so I think it's irrelevant.
