Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Pidgin provides a way to change icq passwd (accounts -> icq -> change password) but it doesn't run. In fact the new passwd isn't applied (pidgin doesn't report any errors but you always have to type old passwd to login to icq).

Tested with Hardy and pidgin 2.4.1

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with Lucid or Maverick? Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that it still doesn't work with Pidgin 2.6.6 from Lucid. According to the upstream bug report
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/12419
it also does not work with Pidgin 2.7.2.

Please could you check if this behaviour is still occurring in latest release of pidgin included in Ubuntu Maverick? Thanks.
