Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

While running backtrace on Pidgin looking for another bug, it crashed silently on me while I was in another workspace.
Running Ubuntu 9.04 and Pidgin 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8 .
Backtrace attached.

the stacktrace is similar to http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/8957 but the bug states that's not the crahs

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test a current, supported, Ubuntu version. Thanks in advance
