Bug Description

I'm using the latest gutsy. It looks like there is a problem communicating with the network manager, because when I run `sudo chmod -x /usr/sbin/NetworkManager` and reboot it will connect just fine. I am connecting automatically to a wired network via DHCP.

Yes, it's still beta version bug! By the way, neither Pidgin nor Deluge nor Nautilus (when using FTP) nor "Weather report" bar applet can't connect to their servers! I think that it's global problem in Gutsy and I reported about it, but developers ignored it and didn't fix in release. I disappointed in Ubuntu and in its developers.

Still a problem. I'm running 12.04, and pidgin says "Waiting for network connection" - I am connected via Wi-Fi and writing this post on-line, so something's wrong. If I switch to 11.04 with the same /home, pidgin connects with no problems. It does not, however, on 12.04. If there is any more info you would like me to provide, please do let me know.

I confirm. Latest Kubuntu, KDE 4.7.3, Pidgin 2.10.0.

Always happens when connecting to mobile broadband or wifi. It seems that pidgin inly polls network manager once (after the boot) and then just stays in that waiting state forever.

User must go to the manage accounts and disable and then re-enable them all. annoyance.

Confirm this bug on Ubuntu 11.10. I also have the problem when connected to wired network sometimes.
