Bug Description
I've been using Kubuntu 16.04 since it was released, and have been using Amarok to play MP3s without any issues, until yesterday. After installing some updates:
Start-Date: 2017-02-02 13:17:53
Commandline: apt full-upgrade
Requested-By: mruffalo (1000)
Install: linux-image-
Upgrade: linux-headers-
End-Date: 2017-02-02 13:21:02
Amarok can no longer play MP3 files. I ran Amarok with the --debug command-line argument, and this is what happens when I double-click a MP3 file in the playlist:
amarok: BEGIN: void Playlist:
amarok: BEGIN: void Playlist:
amarok: BEGIN: void EngineControlle
amarok: BEGIN: void EngineControlle
amarok: END__: void EngineControlle
amarok: [EngineController] play: bounded is QObject(0x0) current "Crystalised (Epicleptic remix)"
amarok: [EngineController] Just a normal, boring track... :-P
amarok: BEGIN: void EngineControlle
amarok: [EngineController] URL: KUrl("redacted path to MP3 file") "redacted path to MP3 file"
amarok: [EngineController] Offset: 0
amarok: END__: void EngineControlle
amarok: END__: void EngineControlle
amarok: END__: void Playlist:
amarok: END__: void Playlist:
amarok: END__: void Playlist:
amarok: [EngineController] slotTrackLength
amarok: BEGIN: void ProgressWidget:
amarok: END__: void ProgressWidget:
Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing.
I can play Ogg files without any problems, as I realized when I deleted my Amarok configuration and restarted it -- the default playlist contains a sample track in Ogg format.
