Bug Description
Binary package hint: yelp
This is not about yelp and not about the computer I'm working on now. This is a report about installation of Ubuntu 10.04 beta 1 as advertised on ubuntu.com today (March 31 2010) on my laptop, an MSI Wind.
I want full disk encryption so I used the Alternate CD image to install Lucid on my laptop, using UnetBootin. When partitioning the disk, I get an option for setting encryption for my partitions, but after selecting two partitions and selecting "finish", the screen says something like "no volums selected". Disk encryption is not switched on. I have tried three times. With 9.10, I had no problem using disk encryption.
After the partitioning dialog, various things went wrong in the installation:
- the password I use (I'm sure I made no typo) didn't work
- one time I didn't get a choice for the boot loader, and it used lilo in stead of grub
- I needed to provide an ip number for an ldap server, but pressing "go back" didn't work, it brought me to the next screen
- at 25% of "Select and install software", installation stopped.
There's no configuration files or log files I can send you, because I haven't managed to log into the laptop yet.
I post this bug this way because I couldn't find where I can do it via launchpad (I am logged into launchpad).
Let me know what other information you need :-)
