Most likely, this bug is a duplicate of bug 1075937 because the PPA version of the nvidia driver is not new enough to build against a kernel >= 3.7 (and you're running a 3.8 kernel). Get rid of that package/PPA and install nvidia-experimental package. If that fixes you, please mark this bug a duplicate of 1075937
