when using a live UBUNTU CD one quarter of the screen is only visible(on top-left corner)

Bug Description
I have installed Ubuntu and mandriva on my desktop . When I inserted a live Ubuntu CD on the drive , I could see only one quarter of the screen on top-left corner of the screen .
