Bug Description

I have NVidia proprietary driver and Xinerama enabled.
When I use my laptop's touchpad, I can move the cursor from the left screen to the right one, but I can't move it from the right screen to the left one.
When I use the mouse connected to my laptop, it works.

Also, I have a graphic bug : the cursor stays in a screen when I move it to the other. I can't take a screenshot, it doesn't appear.

Those bugs have begun since I upgraded to Jaunty.

P.S : Sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my native language.

That's done. I'll remember it for my next bugs.

Note that I'm using the driver available on NVidia's website.

I can confirm that this issue affects my system also, with both versions of the nvidia drivers provided by the "Hardware Drivers" applet. It may be coincidental, but when running multi-head (xinerama on) with the nvidia drivers I also observe this issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/358889 . If I switch to the nv drivers, the mouse pointer related bugs go away.

I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA,
would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

Get nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 - 185.18.14 here:

No, this does not fix the issue unfortunately. Unlike the drivers from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates these drivers also suffer the mouse pointer duplication issues. These issues combined with the instability of the nvidia drivers when combined with suspend or hibernate make for a very disheartening experience. I probably wouldn't get a laptop with nvidia hw again, but more generally I don't think Linux will offer a good solution to the general public until someone can get nvidia to fix the multitude of outstanding issues with their execrable drivers. :(

I think this might partially be a bug in glib2.0 that has been fixed but not released officially by Ubuntu.
