Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

'Distribution Upgrade' process produces the following error towards the end of installing the upgrades:
  "Could not install the upgrades.
  The upgrade has aborted. Your systedm could be in an unusable state. A recovery will now run (dpkg --configure -a). Please report this bug against the update-manager package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport. Subprocess /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1).

this is the last of the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade.
I figure the apt-clone_system_state.tar.gz is some sort of pbackup of the state before upgrading, so assume it isnt interesting for this bug report.
