Bug Description
Network Manager blocks port 68 so our device agent is not able to complete DHCP Discovery
we have a component by name DCA-Enabler which does DHCP Discovery and expects response on port 68, this is generic DHCP behavior port number 68 is used by the client to receive (DHCP) server responses.
Refer https:/
In older Ubuntu versions like 16.04, 18.04 etc. Network Manager does not blocks port 68 so DCA-E is able to read the responses.
In Ubuntu 20.04, As network manager has already occupied port 68 it gets the DHCP response but DCA-E does not gets access to the port and cannot read the response.
So let us know what could be the solution for this, is there a way we can call network Manager API and read the DHCP Discovery response ?
Or can we have a call with Canonical and understand on this change in behavior ?
