This is exactly the same place the patch for LP1418260 tries to fix. Apparently that patch is incomplete (or incorrect). With the attached patch the crash disappears.
The attachment "lp1418260_ really_ dont_crash_ if_mm_isnt_ avail.patch" seems to be a patch. If it isn't, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are a member of the ~ubuntu-reviewers, unsubscribe the team.
