Binary package hint: netbook-launcher
This happens in the normal session (not the 2D session). Initially when you launch an application (e.g. firefox) there used to be a wheel that shows up on the top right corner of the launcher icon that starts rotating. It shows as rotating as long as the application is running. Now, that wheel is not showing up at all.
When I logout and switch to the 2D session, it shows up again. I would expect that turning wheel effect on application launch to happen in normal session too.
