Bug Description
certain version of snmpd crash if a request triggers a response that is too large.
Only seems to affect SNMPv3.
It seems to be fixed upstream see [1] or [2].

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug, and apologies for the delay. For some reason we didn't notice it during our daily triages.
Either way, I would like to ask for more information about the problem. The commit and upstream bug that you linked are pretty old and have been part of Ubuntu's net-snmp for several years now. It seems that there's a more recent upstream commit (https:/ /github. com/net- snmp/net- snmp/commit/ 78bf0069ddd24ea 0cc716421c53e1d af46da7002), but I'd like your help to determine whether it fixes the crash. This specific commit is part of the net-snmp package we ship in Lunar/Mantic, so you shouldn't see the crash manifesting in those systems.
Could you please give it a try and report back on the results? Thank you.
