Bug Description
On my Ubuntu 10.04.1 laptop,
infocmp -f -L -d xterm xterm-256color
shows (among other differences) that "key_backspace" is '\177' on xterm but '^H' on xterm-256color. This causes some programs to misbehave when TERM=xterm-
