Bug Description

If you use list view in nautilus, you can display the "size" of a particular object. If the object is a file, then the size column informs you about the size of the file in kByte. If the object is a folder, the the column "size" informs you about the number of "items" - files or subfolders - contained in the folder. This is quite allright and works perfectly well as long as you are browsing your local hard drive. However, when browsing a remote file server, such as smb://fileserver/documents/, the size column of nautilus does not display the number of items contained in the folder. However, the size of particular files is reported. In my opinion list view should always display the same information.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

This is a bug which needs more attention , Not a papercut.
A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10.

For further info about papercuts criteria , pls read > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project.
