mythfrontend.real crashed with SIGSEGV in MythThemedMenuPrivate::keyHandler()

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, latest apt-get dist-upgrade

mythfrontend is starting automatically as the mythbuntu user logs in automatically. Upon start, the menu does not come up, and mythfrontend crashes.

Likewise, mythfrontend crashes when executing it in a terminal. The log stops here:
